The FEDEXTUR - Festival of extreme sports and tourism, is an international event that has been held in Ecuador since 2012 and since 2015, it is also held in a parallel edition in our neighboring country Peru, thus becoming an event that brings together great interest in an important group of adventure tourism actors.
The event is an international showcase for the positioning of adventure tourist destinations, which takes advantage of the potential natural tourist attractions, ideal for promoting outdoor activities and the economic inclusion of multiple enterprises through active tourism.
A very relevant aspect of this project is focused on providing the necessary cognitive tools to potential actors and providers of adventure tourism services, which is essential to develop a tourist destination.
In the 7 years that the event has been held, it has been possible to involve more than 10,000 participants, including athletes and fans. We have also achieved an effective link with the Ecuadorian community.
Additionally, the positioning of the tourist destinations hosting the event has been enhanced, as well as a socio-economic impact on the tourism value chain, managing to promote new ventures based on the provision of tourist services.
In the 4 editions held in Peru, at least 45 thousand tourists, both nationals and foreigners, participated in the different activities carried out at Fedextur.
This year FEDEXTUR must adapt to the changes that tourism worldwide is experiencing, and that is why the first FEDEXTUR ONLINE has been proposed, having as its official headquarters the beautiful Calvas canton from September 25 to 27 of this year , thus also commemorating World Tourism Day.
